Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1 Convertible Mark 2006

The common currency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the convertible mark, which was introduced in 1998. 1 convertible mark is subdivided into 100 fenings. The mark is called "convertible" because, until 2001, it was pegged at par to the German mark; since 2002 it is geared to the euro. As both currencies are at par, one can pay both in mark and euro in Bosnia and Herzegovina; change is frequently given in both currencies.
