Mesopotamia, Old Akkadian Period, Clay Tablet with Cuneiform Writing

This clay tablet dates from 2350-2150 BC. In Sumerian language it gives the ration of flour for certain people – a boat-hauler, for instance, earned 1 kor of flour (c. 1500 liters), while a governor got 1 kor and 2 bushels for his kitchen (c. 200 litres).
