Republic of Austria, 2 Euro 2002

The smallest Austrian euro coins show images on the alpine flora: The 1 cent-coin features a gentian, the 2 cent-coin an edelweiss, and the 5 cent-coin a primrose. The next higher values have architectural motifs: The 10 cent-coin the Romanesque-Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, the 20 cent-coin the Baroque Belvedere Castle, and the 50 cent-coin the Viennese Secession Building. The highest denominations finally present Austrian celebrities: The composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on the 1 euro-coin, and the writer Bertha von Suttner on the 2 euro-coin.
