Adolphe of Nassau-Weilburg (1890-1905) was Grand Duke of Luxembourg until his death. The history of the duchy went back. In the year 963 Siegfried, Count of Ardennes, acquired the fortress of Lucilinburhuc in the Alzette Valley. Around this strategically significant rock a town developed, and with it the dynasty of the House of Luxembourg and its county. Luxembourg coins always bear the image of the grand duke.
