United States of America, Quarter Dollar 2007

A cowboy on a bucking horse has every western friend immediately think of Wyoming. It is the 'Cowboy State', the legendary Wild West. More appropriate, however, would be to call Wyoming the 'Cowboy and Cowgirl State'. For Wyoming was the very first of the states of the USA to grant suffrage to women and to welcome them into politics (1869). This is why Wyoming is also known as 'The Equality State', after its state motto 'Equal Rights'.
