Indonesia, Papua, Irian Jaya, Dani People, Jetak (knitted band with cowrie shells and fur tufts)

Jetak is a long knitted band with cowry shells sewn into the center of the band along its length. Also job's tears (coixseeds), orchid fibers, feathers and fur tufts can be attached. The Dani people if Irian Jaya use jetak as a measuring device to determine the price of pigs. Besides, the cords are exchanged as ritual offerings at funerals.
