United States of America, 5 Cents 2000

Generations of Americans have grown up with this coin: the Jefferson nickel has been minted for more than 60 years with only minor modifications. Moreover the nickel, the 5-cent piece, is the only American coin still produced in its original alloy. Since its introduction in 1866, it has always been made from clad, an alloy of copper and nickel.
