Swiss Confederation, 10 Francs (6th Banknote Series, in Circulation 1976-2000)

The 10-franc note shows the portrait of the mathematician Leonhard Euler from Basle. Euler was known as someone who "calculated as easily as other people breath or the eagle glides the sky." His contemporaries thus called him an "incarnation of Analysis." Even complete blindness, from which he suffered for the last 17 years of his live, did not stop his unequaled productivity: there are 866 publications known from Euler altogether.
