Swiss Confederation, 5 Francs (2nd Banknote Series, in Circulation 1911-1980)

This 5-franc note was first issued in 1914. The front shows William Tell with the Rütli in the background. The back is ornamented and without image, because this note was expected to be in circulation only temporarily: it was meant to replace the 5-franc coin of silver, in case such coins were hoarded and thus withdrawn from circulation during wartime. The 5-franc note was used until 1980, however.
