Holy Roman Empire, Lothringen, Frederick II of Hohenstaufen, Denarius

Unfortunately our denarius from the time of Frederick the Great of Hohenstaufen (1194-1250) is not very well preserved and was additionally struck off centre. Its obverse bears an armored rider on horseback, the reverse a sword within the inscription MVRICORT for the mint of Mirecourt in Lorraine.

ca. 1194-1250 n. Chr.
